The University of Salford is located one mile to the west of Manchester's cosmopolitan city centre. Its location, close to an extensive network of roads and railways is ideal for travel to all parts of the country. Manchester International Airport, less than 15 miles from the campus, offers direct flights to many parts of the continent and a regular shuttle service to London - Heathrow. A British Rail station is situated 2 minutes walking distance from the centre making rail travel even more convenient. Manchester, England's third largest city, provides excellent cultural, leisure, shopping and sporting facilities. Some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain is within easy reach. The Peak District, the Dales, the Lake District and the sandy beaches and mountains of North Wales are all less than two hours away by road.

AccommodationIf you wish to stay in Manchester either the night before or the night after the workshop you must arrange your own accommodation. Location of UKCBR4The workshop will be held in the Rayleigh Room in Faraday House at the University of Salford, Peel Park campus, which is number 17 on the campus map. Travelling from Manchester Airport/Manchester Piccadilly to the University of SalfordTravelling by train is the most efficient way as the Univerisity is served by a train station (Salford Crescent) right in the middle if the campus. If you are travelling directly from Manchester Airport to the workshop at Salford University there is a frequent train service between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly station. Some trains go directly to Salford Crescent station, otherwise, change at Manchester Piccadilly station and catch a train to Salford Crescent (trains to Salford Crescent depart from platform 14). Online train timetables can be found here Travelling by TaxiIf you wish to travel to the University by taxi from the centre, ask to be dropped off at the front of the University on the Crescent, Faraday house is directly opposite on the other side of the road Travelling by CarFor those travelling by car, a detailed map here gives a good idea of routes into Manchester. A road route planner is provided here. The Peel Park campus is located next to the A6. Cars may be parked at the Car Park located behind Farday House (number 17 on the campus map) .
