
Case Advisor (latest version 4.0) is an intelligent
problem diagnosis and resolution system which allows an organization to efficiently author
and retrieve solutions from a "knowledge database" to solve customer problems.
Marketed by Sententia Software Inc. of Simon Fraser University in Canada it is similar in
look and feel to Inferences CBR products. There are three components to the
software; Case Advisor Authoring, the case authoring environment, Case Advisor Problem
Resolution, the runtime case retrieval engine, and Case Advisor WebServer. Case Advisor
Webserver is an intelligent customer support application for organizations wishing to
provide customer support on the internet. Case Advisor Authoring is a very simple tool,
similar in look to the Inferences CBR Express Versions 1 and 2. The case author is
presented with a syntax free environment for entering the details of a cases name,
description, solution and confirming questions.
