UKCBR5: the 5th UK CBR Workshop - 11th December 2000

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited for the 5th UK Workshop on Case-Based Reasoning (UKCBR5). Continuing the pattern established by Ian Watson in previous UKCBR workshops, this will be a relatively informal occasion where you can meet CBR colleagues and exchanges news, views and opinions as well as presenting and/or learning about the work of others.

This year the Workshop will be held at Peterhouse College, Cambridge jointly with the BCS SGES ES2000 conference. The UKCBR Workshop will run in parallel with the ES 2000 Tutorials on the first day of the conference. As colleagues who have attended the ES 98 of ES 99 conferences will confirm, Peterhouse, which is the oldest and smallest of the Cambridge colleges, is an excellent venue.

Scope of the Workshop

Papers submissions are invited on any aspect of case-based reasoning. Papers on practical applications of CBR will be particularly welcome. Possible topics include but are not restricted to:

Although this is the UK Workshop on CBR, a warm invitation is extended also to researchers from outside the UK to submit a paper, or otherwise attend.

Student Rate

So as to encourage student participation in the workshop, the BCS SGES has made arrangements to subsidise genuine students who wish to attend the UKCBR Workshop only but are not presenting a paper. The UKCBR workshop organisers are therefore in a position to offer a student rate of £50 for non-presenting students.
